SHERATON AMSTERDAM AIRPORT

Refurbishment of 417 guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas
About

A new design for an international hub.

The Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel and Conference Center is directly connected to the Schiphol Airport terminal. With 417 rooms and suites, as well as extensive conference and dining facilities, the hotel caters primarily to international business travelers, transit passengers, and conference attendees.

As part of a comprehensive repositioning, TKS modernized 417 guest rooms and bathrooms, as well as the hotel’s public areas. The bathrooms were completely renovated, and the rooms were adapted to the brand’s new design concept. The lobby, work and communal areas, as well as parts of the dining facilities, were also given a new look.

A particular challenge was carrying out the work while the hotel remained open for business. The work in the guest rooms was organized in phases. Individual areas were taken out of service one after another, renovated, and then reopened for use. This allowed the extensive renovations to be coordinated with the operational demands of a heavily frequented airport hotel.

The modernization was part of the international rebranding of the Sheraton brand. The new design concept draws inspiration from the Dutch surroundings and combines modernized guest rooms with open workspaces, lounges, and communal areas.
