New perspectives for an established shopping center.

The Rhein-Ruhr Center in Mülheim an der Ruhr is undergoing a comprehensive revitalization and is being repositioned to meet the requirements of a modern retail, leisure, and community hub.

As part of this repositioning, new retail spaces, a redesigned mall layout, and a diverse mix of uses are being created. Retail, dining, and leisure offerings will be more closely integrated and complemented by newly designed public spaces.

TKS is undertaking extensive demolition, planning, building services, and construction work as part of the ongoing revitalization. The scope of work ranges from gutting and dismantling existing spaces, through structural work, steel construction, facade work, and interior finishing, to the renewal and adaptation of the building’s technical systems.

A key focus is on the renovation of the western section of the center for future anchor tenants, the modernization of the fitness center’s space, and the construction of the new West Mall. The existing areas will first be demolished before the new building structures, retail spaces, and technical systems are constructed.

The building services include, among other things, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, electrical, security, and fire protection systems. All technical systems will be tailored to the new uses and integrated into the center’s existing infrastructure.

The project will be carried out while the center remains open for business. Demolition, construction site logistics, visitor routes, deliveries, and technical work will be coordinated in such a way that operations in the adjacent leased spaces and key access points remain unaffected during the work.

The renovation will create the structural and technical conditions necessary for a future-proof mix of uses and the long-term strengthening of the location.
